The NHK period drama “Ryouma” ended today. I sometimes enjoyed it to some point, but I sometimes didn’t. It probably was too masculine a story for me. I prefer a drama in which many actresses wearing beautiful costumes appear.

The next year’s period drama is “Go”, featuring a princess in the warring states period who was a niece of that famous Warlord Nobunaga Oda. Princess Go lost her parents as a child. Her destiny compelled her to marry as many three times, and she finally became a mother of Warlord Iemitsu Tokugawa. Her life filled with ups and downs interests me very much. On the other hand, I feel sad imagining she went through a lot of pains.

By the way, I am currently watching a drama titled “Guilty” starring Miho Kanno. Although the story is very unrealistic, it keeps attracting me. The drama takes up a theme of false accusation.

As many bloggers talk about this book, I've got to be interested in it. It was very luck my city’s library had it. After I got it at the counter of the library, I turned the pages randomly. Mt first impression was this book was rich in content. The due comes in two weeks, but I am unlikely to be able to finish reading it within the deadline. For a person like me who can’t express opinions logically, comprehending this kind of book takes time for sure. At any rate, I had better start reading it as soon as possible. I wish I could build up English sentences more reasonably than before.

This week, a coworker asked me to translate his English presentation into Japanese. He will be going on a business trip to the U K. to attend a meeting. During the meeting, he is supposed to make a presentation in front of our counterparts in Europe. He prepared it already but he had no time to translate it into Japanese with many things going on around him. So he wondered if I had room for the translation work.

At first I was afraid that I could make it, but I did it with almost no trouble. The presentation had something to do with the accounting treatments for Property, plant and equipment and Intangible assets in accordance with IFRS. As a matter of fact, a week or two ago, I studied theses accounting treatments to translate the relevant Japanese materials into English, As I was gradually getting used to IFRS financial terms regarding those asset items, the power point presentation this guy handed to me wasn’t a hard task. I made it one day before the deadline, which made me relieved.

I get involved in the company’s IFRS project office. I feel I can increase translation work thanks to IFRS. Now I have a book which I borrowed from the office. Today I will be reading an article regarding Revenue.

By the way, work-life balance is what counts for me. I sometimes used to work too much and to hurt myself. That’s why I am suffering from ills. There is no one who can go on running. I’m determined again not to work late. I want to enrich my valuable private life. If I have a chance, I want to read other Ms Komuro’s books to get some tips on work-life balance.

Is it ok for ***, **** and *** to implement this methodology for ** while the ***** continue to follow the old methodology? Or do you require all companies in the group to use the same methodology?

Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanking you in advance for your help.

I want to discuss a revenue recognition issue with you. I believe that ***** san discussed this issue with you briefly last week when he was in Japan.

The facts are as follows:

A sells some parts to an unrelated company in ***** (“B”). B uses those parts and includes them in a part that they produce and then sell to A for use in its assembly *****. The question is whether A should recognize sales revenue on the original parts sale to B since A will purchase the parts back as they are included in the parts that B will sell back to A.

We have researched this issue for ** GAAP and have discussed this in detail with *****. As a result, we have concluded that A should not include the original sale of the parts to B as sales revenue. I have included a Q&A that is attached that discusses this issue in greater detail (it is the second Q&A on the attachment). Of course, we are not sure if the Japan GAAP treatment is different from the *** GAAP treatment. Please let me know your thoughts about the Japan GAAP treatment after you have reviewed the attached.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information. I look forward to hearing your comments.

Best regards,

This book was introduced in a woman's blog. Since then I had been interested in it.
Today, I borrowed it at last. (This book was so popular that I was on a long waiting list...)

I sometimes feel there are many things I should know but I don't, which embarasses me.
Reading such an enlightening book to rasie my intellectual level is as important as studing English.

This book is thin with many colored pages.
I expect I will read it without any big trouble.

I wonder how many books Mr. Ikegami have written so far.

If I couldn't write "please" and "criteria", that would be disastrous...
I sometimes find I can't spell very easy English words right.
Shame on me...

As I mentioned, I make a lot of mistakes when translating. However, this kind of work is very fun.
I try to get used to English words used for IFRS, so that I can produce better translation.

Nuttin But Stringz

Nuttin but stringz - Broken Sorrow

This music is used for Miki Ando's short program for this year.
When I listened to it watching Ando's performance in a competition held
in China, it fascinated me very much. Very beautiful but sorrowful tune!

I was in the mood for checking it so badly, and I figured out whose music it was.

This duo's work falls on a brand new music category, doesn't it?

One of my pleaseures about figure skating watching is to find
such fabulous music which soothe my mind. If you happen to know
good music used for figure skating, please let me know.

I happend to find that a library near my place had it, so I borrowed it.
There were a couple of tips to get a high score on the TOEIC test written in the book.
I understand how hard these three teachers have studied English.
I respect them very much.

If I took the test, my score might be around 500 points...
People expect that those who passed the Eiken 1st can get 900 points easily.
But I'm afraid that I'm not one of them.

I love talking with R san. Not only her English but also her personality fascinate me very much.
Every time I have a talk with her, I feel as if my almost lost energy for studying English revives.
Usually, I tend to spend the morning of a day off lazily, but thanks to her, this morning turned into a beneficial one. I appreciate her help me brush up on my English.

"I want to be an excellent English like her." I will set one of my studing goals like this.
