If you have no idea how to run a company, I bet that you can enjoy reading this book. I believe that it is worth it to read when you want to acquire management technique. This book also tells you how important it is to have accounting knowledge. The author is a certified public account. His bestselling book is “Which is more profitable, Gyoza or French cuisine?”, though I have not yet read it.
I am happy I have already known basic accounting technical terms.

Basic skin care products

Today, I was able to call it a day earlier than usual. So I rushed to my cosmetic shop to buy some basic skin products. My current favorite cosmetic brand is called Benefique, produced by Shiseido. It is known as expensive, but I do not want to be stingy about basic skin care, since my skin is so sensitive that I must take good care of it. I had to pay nearly yen 7,000 for a water lotion and a milk lotion. Oh my… I was almost broke. If my husband knew it, he might feel faint. I must keep it a secret for the time being.

My counterpart

I expected that my counterpart would come to my office from overseas around the end of the month. However, she may cancel her business trip to Japan due to this pandemic influenza. Early next week, she will take all situations into account and make the final decision.
I wanted to ask her a couple of things face to face, but I currently predict that I will not make it. I wonder when this global mess will recede.

とりあえず出来た

I was working on preparing an English booklet describing our company. At any rate, I finished my part of it and passed the first draft on to my boss to have him look over it. It took me over a week to complete it. After getting an okay from my boss, I will be submitting it to our business partner to get their professional advice. Next week, I need not to work overtime, which pleases me very much.

It is high time for me to take a day off from work. If I did, I would like to enjoy watching a soap opera starting at 1:30.

I want to improve my listening skill

I want to improve my listening ability, because it is terribly bad. That does not mean that I am good at speaking, reading and writing in English, though.

I know that watching a TV show in English would benefit me to some extent. However, my kid wants to have it to himself whenever I want to watch TV. I don’t intend to blame him for that, but sometimes I want to. (ha-ha)

If I have time to make such a complaint, I should listen to NHK radio which provides a variety of English listening materials.

Tomorrow, I have to get up around 5 o’ clock to prepare my kid’s lunch and get to the office in time for the start of the office hours.

It turned out to be boring to me

I have finished reading a book which guides how to utilize NHK English programs in order to brush up your English ability. Well, on the whole, it was boring to me, since there was almost nothing new in the book. I shouldn’t have expected too much. I am glad that I did not bother to buy it. It would have been a waste of money and time.
The book costs you way over \1,000. Instead, I’d love to relish a couple of cakes in a cozy coffee shop.

I was reading a ducument

Today, I was reading an English document related to my work in the office. I spent most of my working hours reading it. I was so concentrated that I almost missed coping with other crucial things.

I have just started to get involved in making an annual booklet in English. I predict it will take time to complete it. This work is demanding, challengeable, but my boss is supportive when I am in trouble. Some technical terms are way over my head, but I believe that acquiring new knowledge from those unfamiliar words is surely beneficial.

Tomorrow, I will forget all about work and take a good rest.
Let me sleep longer than usual.

I agree with this opinion

I can't agree with this opinion more. I know some people whose English is superb, however, ...

His pictures were amazing!

This morning, my husband and I went to a museum. The main purpose was to see two pictures of my friend exhibited there. As a matter of fact, I was looking forward to seeing them. They did not disappoint me as expected. They were so fantastic that I tried to keep them in mind. One depicted three old houses covered by snow. The other represented cheery blossoms and a small boat floating in the river. Whenever I see this friend, he shows me his latest work. I always ask him how much it is, but he just smiles.

After leaving the museum, we entered a small coffee shop which served good coffee and cakes. Needless to say, we enjoyed having them.

Today, we had a wonderful date, remembering the days when we were seeing each other before marriage.

Today, I missed the time to read a booklet

Before the office starts its operation after the Golden Week, I want to read an English booklet which links to my work. I thought that I would be able to secure some time to read it in the morning or in the afternoon. However, I unfortunately missed the time, since I failed to get myself together. Can I concentrate on reading it from now on? It is too early to go to bed and sleep like a log.

By the way, tomorrow I will go out to eat cakes after seeing my friend’s works exhibited at a museum. I can’t wait.

My work this month

I am partly responsible for making a brochure in English in the office. That is fun but challenging, demanding for me, since this booklet will show what my company is all about to readers outside Japan. I predict that, before I finish up this work, I may be exhausted. Nevertheless, I like this work. When I work on it, I try to think this way: the buck stops with me, to energize me.

It is great that my boss counts on me enough to involve me in such intriguing work. Although working harder sometimes kills me, I want to get a kick out of work in English. For me, studying English is not pastime. My mantra is that I study to earn money. That is the way I have chosen, sacrificing other important things.

I am a bit curious about management acconting, different from statutory accounting. This book is written in a form of dialogue between a university professor and two working women. So it looks to me easier to understand than other difficult books filled with technical terminology. I hope this book will contribute to increasing my knowledge about accounting.
