I have a stomachache…

I don’t feel good these days. I often have a stomachache. In the middle of last night, I felt an excruciating pain in my stomach, which made me awake for a while, though my whole body wanted a good rest to release my fatigue.

Recently, I was busy at work. In addition, I was assigned to be a mentor of a new hire. I felt as if I had to work harder than usual. These responsibilities might cause me to be in bad shape.

It is not easy to work to earn enough money. But I should regard myself as a lucky woman having a job in which I can use English, unlike stay-at-home moms.

Congratulations on their 50th anniversary

Last night, from 7:30 to 9:00, NHK broadcasted a program featuring Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. I was able to watch part of the show, though I really wanted to enjoy the whole show. Coupled with their marriage history, intimate conversations between them were introduced to audience. They looked to me like an ordinary elder couple caring each other, which is very favorable.

I can’t help but feel how sophisticated and noble Emperor Michiko looks whenever I see her. She has not changed, though she gets older and older like we do. Her talk, manner, and behavior keep on attracting me to the full extent. Honestly speaking, I prefer Empress Michiko to Princess Masako or Princess Kiko. I wish I could be a lady like her, who I believe is one of the most beautiful women over the world.

After I looked at a picture of a wedding ceremony

I had a chance to see a wedding picture of a couple in a book. It looked so nice that I was naturally about to remember when I tied the knot with my husband. At the time, the introduction about the couple caught my eyes for a moment. It said the bride was several years older than the groom, in her late 30’s.

I was in the mood for asking one of my male coworkers how he would feel about having a partner much older than he. Beyond my anticipation, his answer was very nice enough to make all women smile. “What is wrong with that? It does not matter to me at all if my future wife is much older than I or no.”

Well, I have just remembered something.
If you are a woman, please prepare yourself to go ballistic. I once heard from a girl that a guy was raking women. According to her, he insisted without any hesitation that single women way over 26 or 27 years old are so worthless that he can’t regard them as “woman”. What? What a wise guy! Needless to say, his remark definitely pissed me off.

Michael J Fox

I often read business articles on the CNN website to increase my vocabularies for my work. However, today, I came across an article in the entertainment segment which I believe definitely can encourage all people, especially people in despair. The intriguing article features Larry King interview with Actor Michael J Fox.

Despite Parkinson disease diagnosed years ago, he now thinks positively and cheerfully, though he had to spend sleepless nights consoling himself with the power of alcohol before he made a decision to announce his disease to the public. He knows very well how important it is for you to accept the way you are.

He is ready to talk to you having hard time now, as he did to his three children. If you have time, go to the CNN webside to find what he has said about his life. Besides, do not forget to feel how much thankful he is for his wife.

I do not want to do that…

I wrote before that I went to a small radio station with my friend to ask them to play his CD on the radio. At the time, I sort of worked as an interpreter. Thanks to his smiles and my translation, they kindly accepted his request, and I assumed all was over. But today I got an email from him which annoyed me… It suggested he would like to visit other bigger radio station with me to make the same request. WHAT! Spare me.

The radio station he wants to ask is a large one sponsored by a well-known company in this region. How could he and I possibly succeed convincing them to play his CD? Too much! I believe even going all the way to the popular station would be a waste of time.

Fortunately, he is not here in Japan now, though he will be coming back here in August. I only wish if he could put aside his silly idea before his next visit to Japan.

Work effectively

I am focused on working efficiently while reducing overtime. Taking a look at my day planner, I will review what I will have worked on in April and May.

At times, I am likely to wilt under pressure, especially when I work on translation. But I want to improve my job performance, which I assume will enable me to climb up further. I want to grow from being a mother who just knows English a little to become a sophisticated working mother who more frequently uses English in an increasingly global business environment. Given the workplace where I am in, I think it would be sensible to work positively. I feel my boss will give me more work related to English.

Way to go!

I knew she would get a high score on the TOEIC test very soon. I happened to drop by her blog, though I usually don’t on a weekday night, since I have almost no energy to use my PC at home.
Her diary showed her latest TOEIC score. She did a good job. She must be exalted now.
I believe this achievement will enable her to get a job which satisfies her to the full extent.

At present, I don’t intend to take the TOEIC test. Passing the Eiken first grade was enough for me. Honestly speaking, I have no money to take the TOEIC test…

Spring

I used to like summer best of all four seasons. But these days I am getting to know how beautiful spring is. Spring breathes new life into Japan, where we are in a recession. Look at cherry blossoms blooming outside. I want to cherish the moment when I can enjoy their beauty.
